Sex, gender identity, gender role and orientation are all part of personal identity. Every single person displays these traits, and we need to accept and respect that one life lived does not in fact represent another.
- I am an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. This is where I learned UNITY in COMMUNITY.
- I support gay marriage, and LGBTQ+ rights in legal, medical, family planning, financial, and end-of-life considerations. Families come in all shapes and sizes, and we need to celebrate that. “It takes a village” is a fundamental concept that we all need to think about and embrace more.

- Conversion therapy is bad science and should be banned. See statements from the Human Rights Campaign, and from GLAAD.
- Within Utah, we need more community supports for displaced family members who identity as LGBTQ+.
